I am 43 years old and have diabetes.  I take pills and insulin.  Within the past 2 months I have been seeing a black spot in my right eye.  I have had the field vision test and it shows where there is a definite problem.  I have 3 in the last 3 weeks with it getting worse each time. I had a CT scan with and without contrast and am waiting the results.  They said it is not a floater and now I have like a strobe light effect.  What are som other things this could be?

Hi,
I assume that they also did a fundoscopic exam and looked at the back of your eyes for bleeding or lack of blood flow(if not, they should do this right away). Other concerns would be a pituitary mass which can press on the optic nerve and cause some defects in vision. Be sure to follow up with your doctor about this soon, and see and ophthalmologist as well. As it seems to be progressing, you should not wait too long between appointments to discover and treat the cause.
Take care.
