Breast Lift & Lump

by 5mom, Nov 30, 2007 01:00PM
Hi, I had a breast lift and was augmented on my right side only for asymetry back in Feb. 06. My question is could I be feeling scar tissue on left breast from lift?  It was not originally there. Back in May of this year I had a mammo and was called back to have the left side filmed again. Never had to do that ever. Although I know it's happend to some women. They said it was fine.  A few months later I've noticed a pretty large lump on left side coming from inside lower right of the left breast.  My mother is a breast cancer survivor (26 yrs). Not sure what to do?
Thanks for any answers!

Generally, a breast lift is a relatively superficial procedure and does not  usually extend deeply into the breast tissue.  An unusual lump should  be evaluated with some suspicion.  I would suggest being examined by your plastic surgeon who would be the best source of evaluating the lump.  If you are still concerned, then a local general surgeon should evaluate your condition as well as the mammogram you had in May.
