BV

by saphirechild, Feb 27, 2007 12:00AM
Just wanted to know if there were any over-the-counter treatments for BV. I thought it was a yeast infection and tried treating it with monistat but that only relieved the itching, I am still experiencing discharge. Since i have had both yeast infections and BV in the past I know that it can be almost impossible to tell the rwo apart with going to the doc. Currently i can't get to a doc, si i would really appreciate if anyone knew if there were any over the counter BV treatments and told me about them. Thanks.

there is not an over the counter med for bv the doc has to prescribe a med for you if you can't get to the doc try your local health department more than likely they will prescribe flagyl.

No, you must get a prescription to get rid of BV.  There are no home remedies.

Sorry!

I've been using YeastArrest and hlc candaclear from rockwellnutrition.  So far its working to get rid of the symtoms, the ordor, the discharge.  Its, from what i gather, is a natural product.  Could be wrong though.  Check it out and see if its somthing that might work for you.  This doesn't replace visiting a dr by any means, but my dr. kept telling me it was nothing.  I don't understand how a horrible smell, and greenish yellow discharge is nothing.  So i've been using YeastArrest for about a week to 2.  So far so good.

I still use YeastArrest when every i have a flare up.  I have noticed that the hlc really hasn't done much.  but the yeastarrest has been a life saver for me!!    i went to my dr. SEVERAL times and then to another and then to another, and FINALLY i went to a natural dr and she said that if it works, it works.  Something to do with the boric in it and my low count of something. She said use it!!  i haven't had to go to the dr since.  I do caution anybody to visit your dr first to make sure it is not something else!!!  I visited several to make sure.  She also told me to start using unsented toliet paper, no bubble baths, unsented soaps, and no liq. soap.  so far so good.  I've been using it for over a year so far and it's worked for me. I've also noticed i've not has as many flare ups as i used to.  I still get some imbalances right before my peroid, so i usually do not use anything then.  hope it works, but Please Please visit your dr. first!!

Get some acidophillus caplets or tablets and mix with ice cold water and use something to inject the liquid into your vagina,,,this is a natural bacteria killer and it works MIRACLES,,it takes it all away.  I have constant BV and always took ATB's but no more of that.  melissa70817 was the one who gave me the information if you would like to ask her more about it,,she knows a lot about it and has been doing this Tx for a long time.  Good luck and take care
