Have I been misdiagnosed?

I was diagnosed with asthma 2 years ago now. I use the ventolin inhaler when its needed and seretide 125 (2 puffs morning and 2 puffs night) I havent really found that these help much with the breathlessness or wheezing that get occasionally. I have now just had it discovered that as iv grown from a child into a teen my heart hasnt changed position like its meant to. I also have a vein going into a cavity in my heart where it shouldnt be! I get chest pains which get sharper and more painful when i breathe in! I was just wondering if any of you had heard of this kind of heart condition and whether you think i could have been misdiagnosed with asthma? xox.

What i would do is see your doc about that chest pain and breathlessness (or cardiologist) so that they can run tests that can identify any heart issues if there are any. If it isn't cardiac, then your type of pain might be what is called pleurisy, an irrition of the lining around your lungs. Another thing it could be might be costocondritis, inflammation of the cartillage on your ribs at the junction of your sternum. Either way, the best person to go to would be the doc...I hope you get answers soon..sunny
