This Is My Last Resort

I have been trying a number of acne treatments from the shelves and from the doctors and even started ordering online, i exercise and eat healthily. Nothing seems to help. I keep gettin loads of red lumps / white heads around my chin and cheeks. I dont know what to do, im so depressed about the way i look, i dont even like to go out. Its ruining my life and i need help. Any suggestions atal would mean alot. Thank xx

Try a dermatologist (since doctors only know so much about skin along with everything else they have to know). Start reading up on different skin conditions so that when you talk to the dermatologist, you won't be overwhelmed by all the scientific hoopla. That's probably your best bet. I wouldn't recommend ordering online just because it's online for a reason (unregulated, not meeting health and safety standards, etc.). It could just be goop in a jar for all you know. Try browsing the other forums on this site or finding a acne-specific site like this where people give each other advice on their specific conditions. Unfortunately acne can take a long time to grow out of (and it doesn't just magically go away - sometimes it tends to fade out over a few years). Try not to lose your patience with it (frustrating, I know).

when i was in 8th grade the only thing that helped me was a perscription for erythromycin and one for retin-a gel. It took almost 2 months, but got so much better than what it started out as. I was allergic to something in the over the counter stuff (clearasil, oxy-10, stridex ect) and they would cause my face to swell and turn bright red, but the retin-a gel didnt seem to bother me.

acutane works wonders...risk involved but my son had horrible acne and took this percribed medication and it is 5 yrs later and clear, beautiful skin. Good luck!

Its okay dude or dudette!, i had majour acne all round my face and i felt exactly like you do, And i also tried all the products on the market, and it didnt really work. However there are better stuff out there and i suggest you ask a doctor (thats what i did) and mine ARE gone!!.

Well i still do get one or two these days but they go away so i dont pay much attention to them, Its better than having a face full of acne like did earlier.
Anyway dont worry itl be ALRIGHT!!! trust me!. And do tell ur parents and go see a doc.

Don't worry about this at all. Myself, and quite a few close friends had the exact same problem as you. I tried everything off the shelves and none of it worked. I finally went to a skin specialist and was prescribed with antibiotics and cream. Within a few weeks/months it had cleared up to nothing and never really came back.

It always works because they are antibiotics. You just need to be prescribed some. It's nothing to worry about at all. Just get an appointment with your doctor.
