Cerebral Palsy and Lupron 3.75

by lilhayli, Dec 05, 2007 04:29PM
I had a doctor treat me for endometreosis that i was never diganosed with, and was treated with Lupron 3.75, that in turn also found out that I was pregnant 12 weeks to the date of my second injection , my injections were every 28 days. I was told to abort the fetus, and that doctor did not want to help me with what defects lupron would cause, they said they would not be responsable if I decided to keep the baby but they would help me find a doctor that would abort her up to six months. Well I have delievered a beautiful 5 pound 11 oz baby girl, I think the hardest part was the entire pregnancy continuely going into labor, being air lifted to better hospitals, and so... I would like to know Lupron 3.75 rated catagory X can it cause Cerebral Palsy that my baby is diagnosed with?  There has never been any family history of Cerebral Palsy or any other birth defects.

Hi.

Lupron 3.75 is indeed classified as pregnancy category X meaning studies in animals or humans have demonstrated fetal abnormalities and/or there is positive evidence of human fetal risk based on adverse reaction data from investigational or marketing experience, and the risks involved in use of the drug in pregnant women clearly outweigh potential benefits.

There is, indeed, a significant possibility that the cerebral palsy is associated with use of lupron.
