HPV? HSV-2? Could this be either?

Hello Doc, I would be very grateful if you could read this and tell me in your opinion what the symptoms point to, My doctor didn't know. I'm getting tested tomorrow & don't think its HSV, it doesn't look like any pictures I've found of HSV/HPV. Here goes, (PS: the images are cropped, not very graphic)

6 days ago I noticed what looked like a mosquito bite with a whitehead in the center, or  large zit. I popped it like a zit and white puss came out. I wasn't too alarmed--I've had smaller zits in my pubic region. However this one was on the lower side of my penis, and a bit larger then the tiny zits I've had before. It bled a tiny bit more then I expected it too when popped, and healed a bit different--I monitored it healing closely and I'm almost sure it didn't scab. At this point it looks entirely healed but left a (?shinier), slightly raised light pink bump of skin where it was originally, it doesn't look like a scar to me. I have no other symptoms, and I don't remember it itching or hurting.
Here is a picture of the bump it left behind:

From what I've read herpes scab over, is it possible to have an HSV-2 spot that looks & pops like a zit, has white puss, doesn't scab, and completely closes up 5 days later leaving a small bump of skin? (this bump is what worries me)

its possible that there is one more smaller zit/bump i popped in the same area, but its too small to tell.

The things that look like small zits in the past didn't worry me, but thinking back when i popped these the whitehead seemed to be more solid/squishy and tiny (unlike the one i have now),  these other spots on my pubic region rarely leave behind a light pink dot that looks like this pic but ARENT raised:

In fear of having HSV-2, Could you tell me if either of these is likely to be HSV-2 or HPV, or what else this could be based on the description and images?

Thanks & God Bless,
Jacob E.

Sorry, we do not look at photos on this site.  It is too close to trying to diagnose you over the net which is neither in your best interest of appropriate for me to do.  I will comment based on the text you have provided.

The most common cause of pus-filled pimples in the pubic area is folliculitis, a non-STD skin infection which starts in hair follicles where the hair emerges from the skin.  Folliculitis on the shaft of the penis as you describe is quite uncommon.  Small, flesh colored bumps on the penis that produce whitish, semi-solid cores may be molluscum contagiosum.  Your lesions do not sound like typical herpes, the contents of herpes lesions are clear fluid.

One unusual aspect of your description is that it appeared overnight.

Again, these are thoughts offered without the benefit of direct examination.  I think the right think to do is see a dermatologist and stop squeezing it--as you've already found out, that changes the appearance of the lesions.

Hope this helps.  See a dermatologist.  EWH

Hello, sorry I forgot to add that this bump developed completely over night while I was sleeping, within the span of 9 hours.

Thanks & God Bless,
Jacob E,

I had the exact same thing develop on my penis glan about 6 months ago. I don't remember seeing it in the shower but when I came home that night from going out, a bump was present on the head of my penis. I put some stuff on it and over the course of 3 days, it flatted out to be a pinkish shiny looking wrinkly skin. It stayed that way for over 3 weeks before healing over. Is this what you are experiencing?

Yes this sounds almost exactly the same, did you get a diagnoses? what did yours turn out to be? did it look almost like a zit before it turned into a pink bump too?

I'm headed to a dermatologist appt tomorow morning either way & I just got back from drawing blood for the herpeselect test. So I'll know soon...

(though I very much would like to know what you experienced)

It turned out to be nothing. Please let us know after your doctor visit what he says and what your blood test says!! If it's not herpes which it doesn't sound like, what is it...
