Lantus

My Dr. just switched me from Humlin N to Lantus about a month ago.  I just noticed on the bottle that it said not to mix with anything else.  Occassionally, I need Humlog at night when I usually take my Lantus and I have been mixing in the same syringe as my Dr. never mentioned this warning to me.  Do I need to stop that and take 2 different shots at the same time?  and if so do they need to be 2 different sites?

HI,
At this time Lantus is FDA approved for use WITHOUT mixing with any other insulin. The reason is that the other insulins have been found to affect the way Lantus works when mixed together, so definitely stop mixing them. They do need to be two separate shots. They do not have to be entirely separate locations but try not to inject in the spot.

Take care.
