Working with adderall

Im a 45 year old mother of 2.  Last year, it was determined that I had ADD.  I have always known that I wasnt living up to my full potential, but I just couldn't focus for long or follow through with thing I really wanted to do. This led to bouts of depression and low self esteem.  After stumbling along for years unfocused I was proscribed adderall.  It was explained to me that adderal was a stimulant that would help me focus on the tasks of daily living, but I needed to use it very carefully and with a "plan of action"  My doctor helped me set specific goals, some long term and some short.  I found that assigning myself small tasks to perform (like cleaning the house...balancing the check book, raking the yard)every morning when I first started taking the drug was very helpful.  The ability to feel alert and focused  and finish the tasks I set for myself greatly helped my self esteem.  Gradually I have been able to finish many other larger projects , focus better at work and formulate plans for my future.  By taking adderall sparingly and reguarlly I am better able to regulate my emotions and productivity.  I get plenty of sleep at night and so far have resisted the temptation to use if for just an energy boost.  I hope any one who is using this drug will use it wisely.  No drug can give me the feeling of accomplishment I have now that I can focus and GET IT DONE!!!  Peace
