vascular lymph nodes cancer???

by memyselfandI0412, Dec 10, 2007 10:41PM
Does vascular lymph nodes usually mean cancer is present or are there other reasons for vascular lymph nodes?

My lymph nodes measure 1.29cm x 0.59cm and 2.87 cm x 0.96cm.

I am being sent to a Breast Health Center for more tests, but I don't know why.   Should I expect a diagnosis of cancer???

Thank you

Hi.
I didn't quite understand what you meant by vascular lymph nodes.
Where is the location of the 2 lymph nodes?  Are they in the axilla?
A palpable lymph node should be evaluated as to the cause for there are several etiologies of it.  Maybe that's the reason why you are being sent to a breast health center.
A diagnosis of cancer is usually made after a biopsy of an involved lymph node or mass.
It would be best to seek consult for proper evaluation.
For the mean time, you just have to relax and wait for the test results.
Good luck.

yes the lymph nodes are in my axilla.  The ultrasound said there were 3 enlarged lymph nodes one was avascular and 2 were vascular(the 2 larger ones).  I just want an idea what to except, I am one of these people that hate surprises.

Hi.
Vascular lymph nodes could mean that the lymph node has its own blood supply.  Vascular invasion is a histopathologic finding.
Do you have an infection near the area where the lymph nodes are located?
Infection can also cause lymphadenopathy.
