a little female info please...

by tallguy1978, Dec 12, 2007 12:24AM
My girlfriend had a dream that she was pregnant last night, as did I!! she is not technically late yet , but she usually starts her period around this time. pretty much like clock work. as I write this it is tues the 11th. she has usually started by now. she has told me that she sometimes(and has) started a little late and that she is not worried. also she has been under extreme stress for quite some time. but she has always been time. her doc recently changed some of her medications.(about two weeks ago for nervous problems.)she has adjusted pretty well. her doc also changed her B.C. pills. That was only yesterday though and I don't even know if she has filled the script yet. I know that this is still early, but I am kinda freaked out. I am not going anywhere either!!!. I am just looking for a second oppinion. the only way to be sure is if she has a test or if she totally misses her period for awhile I know. But, if anyone has any info on this please post a comment or reply. thanx...T.G.

Dreams really say something about yourself whether you know it or not. Maybe there is something *new* happening in your lives? The dream symbol of a baby usually represents something *new*.

I'm glad to see that you are not the drop and run kind of guy! That's great! .....
A lot of stress, change of medications, worrying about being pregnant or being excited about it can all cause you to be late sometimes. I would say if she doesn't start in a few days and you are that worried about it then maybe you should go have a blood test done, not just some home pregnancy test. Get the quant blood test and that will say how much hcg she has in her blood and that will be the true answer of whether or not she is in fact pregnant. Another thing, if she has been on BC then I would say there is a good chance she isn't pregnant, changing them wouldn't make her less protective unless she started them later and there was a big enough gap for her to get pregnant. Chances are, if she has been on BC for a while and it has helped then she should be safe still. If it's only been a day since her change in BC pills.

Good Luck!

I agree the blood test is what they do for early detection. The doctor can set up one and know right away. You could try a home test also, I have had friends who have had such strong hormone levels very early that a home test took right away.
Worst case she could take a month off the pills just to be safe then re-start them (talk to the doctor/nurse at her office on how that works) You would have to use other BC until the pills are back in her system.
Good Luck
Let us know how it goes, Ok.

It could be that her body is stressed because of both of you thinking about it  and that she has changed her meds so just in case go buy a home test to make sure. good luck and oh yah god would'nt give you something you could'nt handle.
