hair loss please help!

by sofia725, Dec 12, 2007 05:06PM
i recently found out that i have been shedding hair due to iron deficiency anemia, my ferritin level is 22 and hemoglobin is 11. i belive the nomal range for hair regrowth is around 40-70. i have been put on iron supplements by my derm for 1 month now, however there is no improvment in my hair loss as of yet, how long does it take for your hair loss to stop? how long does it take usually for it to grwo back and is it true that you don't acheive complete hair regrowth? because many people have said that your hair usually dosent recover to its original density. please let me know i had extreamly thick/full hair but now i think due to the telogen effluvium induced by iron deficiency i have lost more than 40% of it. please share recovery stories if there are any
any help will be deeply appreciated.
