Daily Headaches/Sharp Pain and Pressure

by squeaky83, Dec 12, 2007 06:44PM
I have always had headaches, but they are not bad enough to stop me from my daily activities.  I feel a lot of pressure along with sharp pains in many areas of my skull.  Recently I was hit in the face by a door pretty hard on the right side of my face.  I even felt a little off balance and was a little groggy the rest of the night.  The top of my eye started to swell, so I immediately put ice on it.  This was on Sunday, December 9.  It is now Wednesday (PM) and the I have had a constant headache.  I have the same feeling of pressure as well as the sharp pains, however, the pain has been more consistant on my right temple.  I have also been feeling sharp pains around my cheekbone.  I have been taking Advil since I was hit and it has not made a difference at all.  What should I do?

Hi.

It would be advisable for you to go to a physician to evaluate for any skull or sinus fractures, especially after the face injury. These could definitely cause symptoms of sharp pain and pressure.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

Do you have double vision or blurry vision?
Eye swelling with persistent headache has to evaluated immediately by a physician.

I only had blurry vision the day I was hit.  I haven't had any since then...  I have also been more tired than ususal...  Is this common?

I don't have the money to go to a physician, but I will probably go next week.  Do you have any idea what they will do?

There is no cost to do this exercise, which will relax your head and ease the pain.Keep doing this over long term and it will help healing the body.Come back to report how you progress.

I am a 43 y/o, very healthy female.  Not on any kind of medication - do have a hx of migraine. Don't have it as much as I did when I was a lot younger.  I recall having migraine as young as 14 y/o.  As my usual daily routine, I will get up at 3:30 to 4:00 a.m. daily trying to get ready for work - this particular day was no exception.   I didn't do anything special.  Worked as usually returned home and relaxed while watching TV - I drank a very small glass of Bailey's Arish Cream (just one not even half of it).  After watching TV for a while, I went to bed about 8:45 pm.  This was on New Year Eve.  I woke up about 4:30 a.m. today, New Year's Day (just about an hour ago), and realized a very sharp headache at my right temple. This pain appearantly have happened several time, of which few times it turned into migraine headache.  I recently regained employment, after loosing my job and lacking medical insurance for almost a year now.  I am so afraid.  Quite a lot a of negative possibilities of things that could happen to me without health insurance. Often a time it comes to mine - like what if I get ill, like a stroke, or something (not that I have had that before - but anything can happen to any one), how will I manage with out insurane.

Just before I got on the computer trying to seek some answer,  I took one tablespoonful of apple cider vinegar.  I have been told long time ago that it keeps one presssure down and even if one does not have HTN it prevents it from happening.  So, I just decided to take a spoonful and now just before I can complete this letter, I realized that the headache is no longer present.

What is your input.  Could this headache have been the starting of Migraine - that was cought on time and taken care of with the vinegar, probably one of the symptoms of a stroke or maybe just  a regular headache that the vinegar took care of rightaway or what?  Please let me know.
