COULD ALL THESE SYMPTOMS BE RELATED?

by coloratura, Dec 13, 2007 02:21PM
Hi!  I am 25 years old.  I was healthy as a child, but going through puberty to now has been extremely rough.  My mother has rheumatoid arthritis & so did her father.  My brother has always been sickly since childhood, but mostly sinuses & allergy - related issues.  When I was about 12 or 13 I got a cat scratch on my chest & not too long after I was diagnosed w/ hidradenitis suppurativa & they said I couldv'e gotten a staff infection from the cat causing my skin problem.  Time has passed since then & I have been diagnosed w/ hypothyroidism.  I also believe I have recently somehow gotten psoriasis.  I had a bout of Belle's Palsy when I was in college, also.  I never really feel good either.  I am always tired & never have much energy.  My thyroid has apparently leveled out & I still have these other issues.  I have some other symptoms, but cannot currently remember everything.  I think they could be related.  Maybe autoimmune?  Suggestions?

Oh, I forgot...I haven't had a period in about a year...the last one the doctor gave me a pill to force the period.  I think I could be infertile.  I am not sure, though.

I think you should ask your PCP to do a complete work-up (labwork) to rule out autoimmune conditions.

Good luck !
