Bump in the back of my ear!!!

i woke up the other day, and as i' getting ready i'm putting my earings on and i accidentally pull my ear and i felf a little pain so , as i'm checking to see where the pain is coming from i feel a little bump in the back of my ear. and it's not like a pimple or in the exterior of the skin but it's in the inside layer of my skin and it's a little bump and it kind of hurt. what should i do, cause the last time i heard a loved one say i have a bump on my neck, it was cancer!!!
