Does your son's vomit smell curdled? Any green color in the vomit? Does he have fewer, smaller stools? Is he weak and lethargic?
There are several reasons which make infants vomit or spit out the milk they take in. One of them is milk allergy or lactose intolerance. Your baby may be gulping air or may have taken too much formula, or the formula may be upsetting your child's stomach.
Another reason that could possibly cause these symptoms is pyloric stenosis. Pyloric stenosis is a narrowing of the pylorus, the lower part of the stomach through which food and other stomach contents pass to enter the small intestine. When an infant has pyloric stenosis, the muscles in the pylorus have become enlarged to the point where food is prevented from emptying out of the stomach.
You should have your son evaluated by a pediatrician for these probable causes as well as to manage or prevent dehydration that is commonly associated with vomiting.
Hope this helps.
