Does anyone know of a support group for women in the U.S. who have vesicovaginal fistulas? It seems that there is very little information or help for women in the U.S. Besides being embarassing, aromatic, unclean and very depressing, I am having a lot of problems getting any help. I have had surgery to repair the fistula without any success. Right now I have two catheters (one in the bladder and one in the fistula), two drainage bags and more of a mess than I can handle.
Thanks to this situation, I just lost a job that I have had for 25 years. Interviewing in this condition is a real treat. Everytime I talk to my urogynacoligist, he discusses the ethics of doing another operation and I discuss quality of life issues. We are at an impass. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
