BURNED by F.I.G. going bankrupt?

by registered_nurse, Dec 18, 2007 08:31PM
I am new to this forum idea but i have a question i dont know where to go.

Has anyone heard of Lipo Now?

This company was started by a registered nurse 2 years ago and they're claiming that over 90% of their patients respond 6-8 weeks after the first treatment. Heck, I had 6 from F.I.G. in the same area and still havent noticed anything except big lumps and some tenderness and numbness.  This lady said they are not like FIG at all. If she is telling me the truth, this will be awesome. Im actually excited again.
Im real skeptical after being burned for $8000 . Anyone know about toxins that act like estrogens?
Im pretty sure thats what she said. And this estrogen is not good but may cause some to spot vaginally.
Thanks your any input. Feeling confused. The two companies say two different things about how  it works, what makess it better, how long to wait between...even how many vials are allowed.

thanks Cathy in Scottsdale

The nurses are well trained. The injection is of PPC or phosphadidyl choline. The action is locally on the fat cells themselves. It is mediated through an inflammatory process. They also support nutritional proteolytic enzymes which they say accelerates the healing process. They are commendable in that they do set limits for the population served. No one over a Bmi of 32 can be treated as it is not for the morbidly obese. People with liver disease are also justifiably turned away. There is a possible allergic reaction if you are allergic to soy, In some cases, seemingly appropriate, specialized formulas are used. I think that they follow a reasonable protocol, but it is pricey and they don't have the research yet to prove effectiveness and/or side-effects...
