disk fustion needed

i dont know if i should get a graft bone from the bone bank or from my own pelvic area, whats safer or even the point of each?do you need the metal plate out of your body once the disks fuse together?i am 26 and have no kids, will this affect me later in life if i dont get the surgery done?
