New dentures

by asc01, Dec 20, 2007 09:14AM
I had new upper and lower partial dentures on Monday - made at a London hospital, as I have had cleft palate surgery.

They are good, but are rubbing in two places.  I don't go back for adjustment till January 7th.  I can eat with them, although with a little difficulty.  I'm using a little fixative on my bottom plate as it moves slightly when eating.

Is it OK to keep wearing them for most of the day and use Bonjela when they are out early morning, mid-day and bed time?

yes but if the pain is too great to bear, you need to bump your appointment up and have them adjusted sooner than Jan 7th or you could be in for one painful ulcer.  If you are tolerating it well, though, don't worry.  Good idea to take them out at night...keep em clean!!  All the best
