Xmas with my sweety-pie. It's never too old to be happy.

I just spent the afternoon with my sweety-pie, who will be 103 years old in two months. She had a series of strokes and has been gradually regaining the ability to speak, and again, this week experienced a quantum improvement. When I opened the window she shouted: "Shut that window!". Three years ago she couldn't make a sound or respond in any way. We set up a little xmas tree and she helped decorate. Complete with a brand new lionel bumper trolley on 0-37 track running around the tree! "That's beautiful!" my 103 year old squealed and clapped! And the next day, when a relief aide came on, the little one pointed to the tree and said: "Look at the beautiful tree!'. This is from someone the doctors declared vegatative three years ago. On a scale of one to 10, every single one of her days is a ten. She laughs and giggled and loves to watch Sharon Stone in Sharon's gunfighting rig! Midnight television. "Don't go!" she says.  When she was younger, my little one edited a western magazine.  She has no pain or discomfort. I threw away the ensure three years ago and she eats good meals. She cuddled up in my arms this afternoon and said: "I love you!".  To live for today and love for tomorrow is the wisdom of a fool. Because tomorrow is promised to no one.

it takes a special person to do what you do i think that you are a very nice -person and like what you do i dont think many people care about the elderly just another statistic someone that gets in the way you are special and i dont think you are one who has to worry about this saying
I wonder if my Mirrow
would a-little kinder be,
if i had thought
more of others
and a little less of me.
                                      Have a nice Xmas       jo
