facial rash all the way to the neck

by allergy101, Apr 26, 2006 12:00AM
Hi, I went to a dermatologist before and they said I might have eczema but at the same time another dermatologist said it's just some sort of allergy. I have red itchy skin on my face on my t zone and cheeks. It gets really itchy especially when I'm stressed or when it gets warm. So summer days are not so good for me and winter is great. It's not dry or anything just red and itchy. At the same time I have little red spot rashes on my neck. They gave me some anti-inflamatory ointment but it didn't really work, cotisone cream would give some short term relief but that's all. Does anyone know what this condition is? Help! Just want to know if there's any treatment out there that can help me get rid of this.

I have no idea what you have but i have the same thing but i also get it on the folds of my arms......i have had it now for 1 year an the doctors keep ignoring me and just prescribing creams that don't work!

I get it really bad on my face....but the funny thing is, sometimes when i go to sleep i have baby clear skin then i wake up in the morning and i'm all blotchie, weeping and rashie!

If anyone else has this problem please post me.....i'm hoping we could get a group together!

i have (maybe) the same thing... it starts from behind my left ear, follows my jawbone to the chin and then spread down to my neck.. the doctors have given my cortisone creams - the lastest was hydrocortisone butyrate, but as soon as i stop using it - the rash comes back!!

Hi,

This could be an allergic reaction to some unknown substance or dermatitis or eczema or sweat dermatitis or sun rash.

You should try to keep the area dry - use a powder if required and apply a medicated sunscreen.

You need to wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products use a medicated sunscreen whenever you go out.

Apply calamine lotion at the site of the lesions and see if it helps. You could take some oral antihistamine medications like cetrizine or loratadine.

It would be advisable to consult a skin specialist for your symptoms and a proper clinical examination.

Let us know if you need any other information and post us on how you are doing.

Regards.
