C7 Radiculopathy

In a recent EMG the conclusion was an abnormal study showing Electrodiagonstic evidence of a chronic C7 radiculopathy affecting the bilateral upper extremites. I have chronic pain starting in neck going down arms,could not feel needles being stuck into arms. Can you please explain in simple english what this is saying?

A radiculopathy is basically a condition where the nerve root is injured causing symptoms of pain (radicular pain) to the areas of nerve distribution. A C7 radiculopathy is injury to the nerve root at the 7th cervical spine which affects both upper extremities (arms to fingers).
The radiculopathy can be caused by several conditions, including cervical disc herniation, spinal stenosis, and degenerative disc disease. These could probably be seen on other diagnostic tests such as MRI.
Your symptoms are likely related to the C7 radiculopathy causing the pain from the neck to the arms.
You should consult a neurologist to explain in more detail the EMG findings and correlate them with your symptoms.
