Pain in veins?

by Shelley909, Dec 26, 2007 09:20AM
Hi there.

I have used this site before and found it very helpful and reassuring, so thought I would post a question to see if anyone could help me with a wierd problem.

Since the birth of my son 5 yrs ago, I have suffered varicose veins in my leg. Not too severe, but they can cause bad pain, sometimes on a daily basis. 18 months ago I ran up the stairs and felt a sharp shooting pain in my calf. The area reddened and became swollen. After a trip to a&e I was told it was not DVT, but a ripped muscle. The following day the area bled under the skin and lasted for a month. I was told by another doctor is what a torn vein.

That cleared up, and I still continued to suffer calf pain, which my GP tells me is the result of varicose veins.

Recently I have been suffering other symptons asscoiated with my veins. A few weeks ago I felt a heartbeat in my groin? Sounds weird, and felt horrible. I have had pains in my groin (only on the left side) where the main artery is since then.
I also suffer similar 'types' of pain in my left arm, and have done for about a year .From my shouldder down the external part of my arm.
These pains are all similar in feeling (sometimes shooting, sometimes throbbing) and I can often feel my pulse when I get them. I sometimes also get twiches in my left leg.

How random are these symptons?! And, has anyone else suffered the same kind of thing, or know what it all could be? I try not to worry about it, but when they are bad, its unavoidable.

Thanks in advance, and hope you havent fallen asleep!!!
