could it be cancer?

by kels22, Dec 27, 2007 01:18AM
two weeks ago I noticed a lump in my lower abdomen. about an inch inward from my left hip bone and two or three inches down from my belly button. I was in pain with bad cramps the night I noticed it. I hadn't lifted anything heavy at all that day, I wasn't stressed anymore then normal, and I hadn't started my period yet.
I have felt the same kind of pain on my right side paralle to where I felt the pain this time before. (when I frist found out I was pregnant 3 years ago)
the next morning the pain was gone but the lump was still there.
since noticing it, I've had my monthly cycle.
I'm worried as to what it could be.my aunt on my father's side had a hysterectomy when she was my age, I don't remember why she had to have it off the top of my head but I do know that her period lasted weeks longer then it should have. (I don't have that problem).
I am 22 years old, wife, and mother of one, and plan to have more... hopefully.

any ideas would be nice before I actually go to a doctor and find out for sure... just to help with calming my nerves.

Hi, Having lumps and bumps where they shouldn't be is scary.  I'd go to the GYN to have it checked out.

In the meantime, could you possibly find out about your Aunt's medical history?  Your doctor should know if there's anything GYN related in your family.

Take care and try not to worry until you see the doctor.  Easier said than done, I know.

If you have to ask yourself....could it be... then it is time to get it checked out. It is better to say to the doctor show me I don't have OVCA. Early detection is the most important thing so always be aggressive where your health is concerned.
