hpv and pregnancy

Hi, a year ago after I went to my doctor for a regular pap smear test, she told me that I have a HPV. In a few weeks I came back for a biopsy. The doctor told me that it is a low risk but I have to come back in 6 months for an other pap smear test. I went back for another pap smear test this December, and I was really hoping that my test results will be normal. I was deeply upset when I received a phone call from my doctor's office. My nurse told me that the results showed that the problem did not get worse. It is about the same, what is good. I don't know if I ever will be able to get rid of HPV. I was  and still am deeply upset about it. I just got engaged. I would like to plan having a baby within a couple of years. I worry if HPV may affect my future pregnancy. What are the potential risks to the baby if I have low risk HPV during the pregnancy? Arre there any women who had abnormal pap smear results because of HPV before but their immune systems successfully got rid of it?

so is doc advising for u to wait more 2 c if HPV goes away in another few months?MANY women with HPV have had children even after a LEEP surgery if necessary. Many have the HPV go away on its own. Many have the abnormal cells removed from cervix with cryo or LEEP.If ur not going to have a child for a few more years u'll see if this goes away or have surgery 2 remove it.Follow ur docs advice......u'll be ok!

I was diagnosed with HPV in May of 2006 and Got pregnant in February of 2007, I had a healthy little boy in November. Throughout this whole time the doctors told me that the HPV was still there. But when I got pregnant with my baby the growing fetus made the HPV disappear. My OBGYN said that when HPV is untreated and you get pregnant the fetus takes care of it almost instantly. You should talk to another OBGYN and get a second opinion. But we are extremely happy with the baby. So my advice to you would be to live life like if you don't have it. The more you worry about it and the more you stress out the less you live.

I was diagnosed with HPV in July 2007 after a routine pap. I had a biopsy done a month later and my doctor felt the changes in the cells were too minimal to remove and she thinks my immune system will eventually get rid of it. I have spoken to her about getting pregnant (my husband and I are planning to start trying in April of this year) and she told me not to let this stop us. She said I can still be watched for any more changes with routine pap tests during the pregnancy, and if anything else came up that we could take care of it.

You can't stop living and dreaming because of this. Millions of women have HPV and go on to have great marriages and beautiful children. Be happy you live in a country where we get paps done at least once a year and they can be aware of whats going on and fix things that need fixing.
