New forum look...

by MJIthewriter, Dec 28, 2007 10:10PM
I don't know about you, but I do not like change and this new "look" and feel of the forum bothers me... I wish there was a way to either change it back or have a setting to view it the old way. Change of any kind bothers me, even something small like this. "Was this question helpful to you?" Yes, No ... give me a break...  Not everything is a yes no matter...

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

I just needed to get that out of my system. :)

I'm slowly getting used to this, but having to scroll down to see the posts here is driving me nuts.

I like the look of this new forum but it is less efficient as far as finding information and posts, I tend to bypass it and go to another forum.  I also have noticed that the activity is less on those forums whereby the "fancy" design is used.  A plain, efficient and easy-to-use forum (in my mind) is preferable.

I like plain too.  I have to admit there's a couple features I like. I like that they show how many hours/days ago the last post. The join communities can also be a good feature. I liek I can just shortcut to them.  What I don't like is my activity gets posted... I don't think we need that. Not that anything I've been posting so far is something I'd be afraid to share with the public. I think it just adds clutter, that and the "related tags".

I found it amusing if I go through varrious forums it seems like every other one done with the new system has a complaint thread posted somewhere.  Also I'm not a fan of white used as the main background. I don't know why, but I prefer a slightly darker background. I think we can do away with the "Was this comment helpful to you? Yes No" Not everything is a "yes, no" matter.  I guess it's some sort of mod feature?? If enough people push no, then the comment goes away?? Or does enough "yes" pushes make the comment/thread up in status?? I can't figure out the logic behind it.

So the ad sponsors can track and target spam to whomever check it. maybe?

If I mash "Yes" on the ED posts then I can get Viagra ads in mu inbox.
