Help Me Out, Here.. lol.

by USCGWife22, Jan 01, 2008 07:41AM
Alright... my husband and I had decided to stop birth control so we can get pregnant again. We're not TRYING trying, we've just decided to stop preventing and let it take it's course. The first day of my last menstrual was Nov. 25th. When I wasn't on birth control, I was very regular and started the birth control when my husband returned home from his isolated duty tour... so I hadn't been on it but for aprx. 4 months before I stopped it for good. I was using the NuvaRing which was also causing SEVERE health problems which was more of a reason to stop using it than any. Anyway! I am now 9 days late and for the past maybe week and a half I have had intermittent cramping... kind of like menstral, but this time, different... I remember this feeling though, this is the exact same pain I had when I had no idea I was pregnant with my first and thought to myself "what odd menstrual pain...?" lol. So, 9 days late, and still have the mild cramping, more so on the ride side of my pelvic/ lower abdominal area. I also had the most incredibly sore breasts too aprx. two weeks ago and have become more mild but my nipples continue to be extremely tender along with breasts still quite sensitive to the touch... never had that during PMS or a menstraul.. I'm also exhausted, and moody (but who isn't during PMS? LOL), and turning my nose to certain things that I normally LOVE (it's terrible... lol). But here's my riff about it... I mean.. is it REALLY possible to get pregnant on the first month of not using birth control? I also researched that you're able to get pregnant within 24 hours of removing the ring... which with such a high dosage of hormones being released into your body at first, makes me think it's kind of bogus to get pregnant so soon after.. but I'm no scientist or gyno, lol. I haven't taken a PT yet because I figure if I am... it aint going anywhere for another 8 months, haha, and where I live... in a VERY isolated area, the PTs here are $35... I do want to take one... but I'm just not sure if the investment is worth it.. so I want other opinions as to what my signs are pointing to? Should I go ahead and quit being stingy? lol. I also want to get a positive before I schedule an appt. with my gyno... cuz she is also my physician and I've seen her WAY too many times latey (other health-related problems... enduced by the NuvaRing, however), and honestly, too moody to want to see her face right now. haha. So help me out here, please! :) Maybe wait another week?

You would get an accurate result by now! I would take the test. If you can get to another city, then try to find a less expensive HPT.

It is possible to be pregnant already. Any time you have unprotected sex you have a chance of becoming pregnant. Take a test!!!!!!!

I found this here about the nuva ring and trying to conceive after going off of it....it says feritility can resume right away, taking up to 2-4 weeks. Read up, you might find out more info on it to ease your mind.
My husband is in the Army, and we decided to try for another (we have 2) and I had a Mirena IUD, and now we are 29 weeks, so good luck!!! I had my LMP June 4th, supposedly conceived June 19th, and got a BFP on July 4th, so take a test!!! You should come up with a pos result by now!!!!
From the sounds of it, you've had issues with the nuva ring, medically. I found another site that I'm pasting at the end here, that talks about health risks with using this method. Good luck to you!!!

Imrsoldier: Ty for the links! I've been doing research and even been contacted by an attornies office regarding that stupid ring, bla bla bla. I told them my case would be a waste of their time. I was fully aware of the risks, etc. I know this is sad, with me having a daughter already... but what does BFP stand for? I'm pulling a blank card here. LOL.

njeosys: ty for the response... unfortunately where I live there are no near-by towns. LOL. Closest one is actually aprx. 6 hours away (rediculous, right?) that's Alaska for ya. lol. I think I'm going to quit being stingy, cuss out the manager for price goudging, and buy it anyway. LOL.

Also another thing I had forgot to mention... where I 'cramp', I feel pressure there... almost like a knot... now this part with my daughter, I honestly don't remember... and this would be the skeptic side of me... but I don't think I'd be far enough to feel anything. I had no idea I was pregnant with my daughter untill I was 11 weeks along.. and I was quite thin and in shape back then.lol. also the need to urinate has increased... but not to the point where I'm plowing through people to get to the bathroom... but it's also because I have become extremely thirsty and milk has become my numero uno friend. lol. I don't remember if 'thirst' was a sign... as far as I'm concerned it's dehydration. I'm a skeptic. lol. My point is I haven't had PMS resemble all this... except for the excessive mood swings and the need to sleep alot exactly 2 days right before I start (my exhaustion this round has lasted almost two weeks), and of course, the want for chocolate.. I haven't had that want this time.. in fact I can't seem to find the RIGHT taste of chocolate... and it's driving me up a wall. hahaha. So I guess I will invest in an overpriced PT here and let yall know :)

I have a question for ya.  Have you thought of buying a preg test online?  I know I've read online that there are some places online that sell them for cheap but I can't remember off the top of my head.
I googled "buy pregnancy test" and this came up:
http://www.saveontests.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=1_2&products_id=5

Its a pack of 25 pregnancy tests for 10.25

I just don't know if they ship to you.  Worth a shot though. :)

BFP is a big fat positive....don't feel bad, I just learned that 2 days ago, and I had to ask someone!!! LOL...It sure sounds like you are being a skeptic about it, and I think if you go ahead and get the test, you'll either ease your mind, and can worry about why you're not getting your period. OR, you can make an appt. with an ob/gyn, to start your vitamins and see if everything is ok. Good luck to you Hon!!!

by njeosys, Jan 02, 2008 11:27AM
Good idea Seraphimred!!! I bought 20 tests on www.early-pregnancy-tests.com for only $16 and free shipping. I got in within two days. Try that out!!!!!!!!

I'm gonna bump this cause I'm really curious if she went and got a test or if she's gonna order online. :)

by USCGWife22, Jan 02, 2008 06:05PM
lol. I'm making the hubby go get one from our price-goudging store in just a bit. So I'll definitely let yall know by tomorrow morning! If I could make myself not go for 4 hours, I'd totally take it this evening... LOL.
Knowing my luck... because my AF is spiteful, I will probably start a menstrual right after I take the test. LOL. Still no signs of AF at all though

and I definitely like BFP, haha. Gonna have to use that one!

by USCGWife22, Jan 02, 2008 09:26PM
Guess who got a BFP? LOL.

:) :)

Time to call my crazy yet brilliant gyno... lol.
