I need help - negative for rpt and tppa but

I noticed a pimple like thing on the upper shaft of my penis and  thought it was just an irritation  after shaving my pubic hairs. It  stayed  very small and I kind of forgot about it.  I went to a massage parlour and had protected sex about 2/3 weeks prior to this.  Since then - over two months the pimple or whatever it is, is bigger (a little bigger than an 1/8 inch in diameter) red and kind of hard. At one point I squeezed the hell out ot it thinking it was like a whitehead.  That didn't work. Then  I thought it might be syphilis so I was confidentialy tested and the RPR came back negative.  I then ordered a tp-pa after reading there were false negatives for rpr.  The tp-pa was negative as well. I know I ned to go to my doctor soon - it is just so hard because I am married and feel guilty about my escapade - even if it has nothing to do with  it.   Am I syphilis free - and advise? differential diagnosis?
thanks

Even without the blood test results, the chance you have syphilis was virtually zero.  Only about 9,000 new cases occur per year year in the United States and most of those are in gay men.  Oral sex is not a common transmission route anyway.  As a guess, there are only about 200 cases per year acquired by oral sex in the US.  Further, your symptoms don't suggest syphilis, which doesn't start as a pimple.

In any case, the negative blood test results prove you don't have syphilis.  Your description is most suggestive of a superficial, non-sexually transmitted skin infection, like folliculitis (hair follicle infection).  Probably it had nothing to do with your massage parlor adventure - just a coincidence, nothing more.

If the lesion is persisting, of course see your provider.  But don't worry about STD.  No realistic chance.

Thanks for the information and reassurance.  BTW - the escapade was protected intercourse not oral sex. - You may have mixed two forums questions.  thanks again and happy new year

Oops, sorry for the error, which came from habit.  Most massage parlor questions on this forum describe oral sex or hand-genital contact.  But it doesn't change my opinion or advice.
