Epididymectomy

Dear Doctor:

I recently had an epididymectomy on my right testicle and am still in pain. Here is the background of how I came to this point. November of last year I ended up in the ER with extreme pain in my right side...felt like someone was stabbing me. The Doctor's gave me Loritab and Bactrum. I went to my GP and after testing they that I had an infected prostate. They informed me to stay on the Bactrum for a month, yet 3 months after the original attack it came back with a vengeance. The pain was so bad that when I was in the ER they decided to admit me. I stayed in the hospital for 2 days, as the Doctor's said getting my pain under control. A Surgeon came in and checked to see if I had a Hernia, I had one in the past. Urologist inspected my prostate again and informed that it was badly infected; put me on Levaquin and Percocet. I went to see a local Urologist who informed me that after inspection that I had an old hernia surgery area that may be causing me the pain and there is nothing to be done.
I contacted another Urologist, and was inspected. The Urologist stated off the bat it was my Epididymis and with antibiotics and some pain medicine, we could get rid of it. I told him the previous story, so he said that the only alternative was to remove the right side. I tried antibiotics again, (Bactrum, Leviquin, Cipro) but it always came back.
So, I had the surgery 2 weeks ago and based off of what I have heard and was informed I should be able to tell a difference by now...but I don't.
I have a pain above the right side of my testicle in the bend of my leg it shoots up into my r side and burns down into my leg. I did lift my Daughter after 2 days of surgery (she's 23lbs) but it was an emergency. I went to the ER and was informed that I had alot of fluid on my testicle. During an ultrasound the Radiologist thought he could see a Hernia... but the ultrasound tech did not know how to use the record function....so it was dismissed as not being a Hernia.

If the radiologist thought they could see a hernia, they'd record that in their dictation of the scan even if it wasn't recorded.  It's worth asking a surgeon to evaluate if there is one or not.

I'm sorry epidiymectomy didn't take care of it.
