ulceration

by chellybeans, Jun 26, 2007 08:59AM
hi, the reason for my post is to find out if there is any over the counter effective remidies for a large ulceration in my  boyfriends gum above a tooth. it is volcanic shaped. (raised like a bump with a crater in the top center) and very painful.

or does this need dental care from a dentist?

if its white in color and nothing is oozing maybe its just a canker (sp) sore.  if it is above the tooth, where the tip of the root would be it could be an absess. when the tooth becomes infected the infection can come out the tip of the root, and drain through the gums. if you are not sure, do have a dentist look at it.
