you're in good company, a recent US president has your condition as well.

Peyronie's (pa-ro-NEEZ) disease is caused by scar tissue tethering down the penis causing this curvature with erections.  It sometimes goes away by itself, but if not, a urologist can help with surgery.

Hey rockridge-
I'be had that condition for about a year. I went to see a top expert urologist in NY that deals with it all the time. He had me use this pump thing after getting a series of injections into the scar tisuue to soften it. Sorry to say, but it didn't help. He also told me that the surgery to remove the plaque has about an 85% chance of leaving one impotent. If you find anything out about how to cure, pass it on. so will I.

It's worth seeing your primary care doctor as well as the urologists.  Many with Peyronie's have high blood pressure or diabetes as associated diseases.

Options to talk to the urologist about:
- verapamil injected or verapamil topical with dexamethasone and iontophoresis
- low dose radiotherapy
- extracorporeal shock wave therapy
- Indications for surgery include penile shortening, persistent pain, severe curvature, and penile narrowing or indentation. Various surgical procedures may be utilized with or without use of an inflatable penile prosthesis

The pronunciation of "Peyronie's" is (pa-ROH-neez)  NOT: (pa-ro-NEEZ)

I have been to many different urologists including specialists in peyronie's disease and they all pronounced it "pa-ROH-neez" and not "pa-roh-NEEZ".  It is inconceivable that all these doctor's would pronounce it incorrectly.  However, in France it IS pronounced "pa-roh-NEEZ.

I had a body scan and the heart surgeon who read my scan said I had a blockage in my penis that was irresverible.  It made me impotent,  Is their anything that can be done?

Arterial blockages can happen all over the body, not only in the heart, but also in the penis.  This is why people with diseases that lead to decreased arterial blood flow can have problems all over , including the penis.

Ask a urologist if this is permenent, the heart surgeon isn't a specialist in the penis.

It's possible that it is irreversible, if it's been this way for some time.
