Skull Deformation Correction - Adult

by silvercloud, Jan 04, 2008 08:32AM
I am 52 years old. There's a flat area on the left back side of my skull. It dates to birth, or very early infancy, I don't know. I have no medical problems that I am aware of related to this. However, this asymmetry of the head is a major aesthetic and psychological problem for me.

Searching the web I found there are a lot of new fancy "filler" materials used in cranioplasty nowadays, but they were mentioned only in cases with a clear medical indication.

Is there any medical center (worldwide) dealing with conditions such as mine, i.e. adult skull corrections for purely cosmetic reasons?

Local surgeons who specialize in craniofacial surgery can determine what is the best and safest approach to your deformity.  The best surgeons in this area are often found associated with university medical centers.

I know this sounds crazy.
I wanted to build a better memory a few months reading that memoery resembles a muscle and can be strengthened and improved through constant exercise.  I had to learn poems and songs, I would recite them again and again in my head.  But my memory is beside the point, I know there are hypnosis downloads etx to improve the brain you have.
The problem is during these exercises my skull expanded disproportionately.  My face has gone from one quite handsome to one that is slightly bent out of shape.
There is a slight buldge in my skull to the back of my left ear.  My ears stick out more now and look ugly.  The right ear, eye socket and jaw bone are slightly higher and protrude forward more.
The gap between my eyes balls has increased too.
Have I grown more brain cells  in certain areas?
  Is this permanent and irreversible.
Is there anything I can do to straighten things up and get my old face back.
