How specific are urine drug tests??

I have a prescription for darvocet to treat a permanent injury. Without thinking I recently took a dose of my wifes hydrocodone cough syrup to treat a cold. I take random weekly drug urine tests for work and was wondering if it will show up. I already have opiates in my system from the darvocet and that's ok but I dont know how specific these tests are. Will it show up as hydrocodone or just an opiate. I am very worried about losing my job. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Most tests aren't that specific, and I think those two are fairly close together as far as testing go. But it does matter which test it is they're using. I wouldn't worry, most places don't want to pay extra for the really specific ones.

depending on how many drugs they test for, it may show up. If they do a 9 drug urine it will show up as hydrocodone. Darvcet comes up as oropex, (i dont remember the generic name). You may be better off telling the truth. It's always better to be honest and upfront. In a urine screen they are listed as two different drugs. I know I get a 9 drug test 2x a month.
