bottle feeding question

our 7 week old is a good eater. sometimes when he eats, he will start to choke. mostly this will happen when he is really fussy before his bottle and it seems he is drinking too fast. its not a choke where he cant breathe or such, its like he starts to cough and has to sit up. he is fine after we sit him up and wipe his mouth area of excess formula and then finishes his bottle. and we will notice this will happen when he is gassy. anyone else experience this? we do recall this w/our nephew too. thanks.

He could have a swallowing problem in where the milk is splashing into his air way causing him to choke. Check with your dr and see if they suggest a barium swallow. My son had it done and we have to thicken his formula to stop it. Also - check the flow on the bottles - it could be too fast for him. He should be on level one - but most bottles that are sold in a pack are medium flow.
