want to start a diet

Hello i am a 17 year old male weighing around 150 standing at 5'6 and i would like to start a healthy diet...it turns out i am  at the borderline of having high cholesterol and i have low good cholesterol and also i would like a diet of keeping a healthy heart....what is the best types of food to lower my cholesteral and improve the good cholesterol and keeping a healthy heart?  also it would be appreciated if u can include numbers such as what is the maxim calories to eat in a day and how much sodium etc. you know pretty much everything that is included on the nutrition facts label  ...thank you

flours, cookies, cakes, white rice, potatoes all contribute to weight gain via insulin problems, and high hdl/ldl's and cholesterol.
saturated fat is bad for hearts, joints, and contributes to cancers.

if you eat more veggies, more fiber, less junk and flours, and if you eat meat,
stop, eat fish of some sort, you will get better results long-term.

read the okinawan diet plan for suggestions on a healthy long life plan.  i believe
it to be one of if not the best most logical.
