Do these blood results indicate anaemia?

by Michael229, Jan 07, 2008 06:39AM
I recently had CBC and only the abnormal results were as follows

Red Cell Count = 4.45 (normal range 4.50 - 6.50)

Mean Cell Haemoglobin = 33.6 (normal range 26.0 - 32.0)

Would this indicate that I am anaemic or are these results insignificant?

Many thanks

you should ask an MD, but, having said that, a slightly low red cell count does
not indicate anemia, and you need serum ferritin and the other CBC results to
fully examine where you stand, plus perhaps a folate and b-12.
