My brother had colon cancer 5 years ago. He got blocked bowels and went to the emergency room.
They found the blockage and operated. They removed about eight inches. They said that the fatty layer kept the cancer from breaking threw the wall. He took no chemo. This November was the fifth year of testing at MD Anderson Houston all looks clear except a very tiny spot on the liver. It showed up active on the pet scan. What do you think about about this after five years? Does ti seem normal to be mitastised after five years.

Think you very much for your input.

Hi. I need additional information about your brother's case which can help me answer your questions:

1. How old was your brother when the cancer was first discovered?
2. Were any lymph nodes found around the tumor? Were these removed? How many were removed, and how many tested positive for cancer?
3. What was the histology of the cancer as reported on the biopsy/ histopathology result?
4. Can you give me the exact description of the liver "spot" as it was reported on the official imaging (PET or CT) results?

Knowing the above information can give clues on how aggressive the cancer is and the likelihood of it metastasizing to the liver after 5 years.

Hoping to hear more from you soon.
