8 year old anxiety/bed wetting

by beth1967, Jan 08, 2008 01:46PM
My eight year old daughter has always been very sensitive and has anxiety. She seems to be a  perfectionist. She also has problems with her food coming up her throat after she eats. She is a very hard sleeper and at times snores. She sleeps so heavy at times I cannot wake her up to get her to go to the bathroom at night. She wets the bed almost nightly, unless we take several steps..like limiting drinks, going before bed and waking her up taking her to the bathroom an hour or two after going to bed. We have used the nasal spray for over six months and quit using it, as it would work some of the time. She had a nose bleed and a UTI, so we quit. We are concerned of the side effects.
She is tired lately most of the time and seems run down. I am thinking about a body type alarm, but wonder if perhaps we should do a sleep study or see an Ear nose and throat doctor. She has yet to see a peditrician, and sees our primary doctor right now. What do you suggest? Thank you.

it sounds like she needs a sleep study as well as an ent dr...it could be her tonsils and adnoids are causing her snoring.  she probably isnt getting a good night sleep either, making her tired.  deep sleepers tend to wet the bed, but also those that may have obstructed sleep apnea and/or allergies, tend to also.  hope this helps
