4 years sleeping problems

Since my twins boys completed 4 (someone gave them a silly book called a monster in the shed - thomas - about a small animal that scared Thomas, making him believe it was a monster) they've got scared of everything. They don't go to the bathroom or other rooms im my house alone (special Tobias) and they are having problems to sleep.
Tobias wake up in the middle of the night crying, scared, and doesn't sleep anymore, for hours. He wants to stay in my bed (but he doesn't sleep if he stays) or wants me in his bed (doesn't sleep). I am completely lost and tired, I have no idea how to deal with so many ghosts and monsters.
I am also missing my sleep! What could I do? I keep asking him to stay in his room, have good thinks, but he cries, and I have to stay wiyh him, so I can avoid to wake up his brother (they share the room)

Monsters is a bad word at our house. I have alot of respect for books but I would encourage them to donate or throw away that book. I bet they would enjoy that.

Have they ever seen Monsters Inc? It kind of puts a funny spin on "monsters in the closet".. they might like it and it might make it easier for them to laugh at the thought of monsters.. just a thought..
