Think I have a bladder Infection But Not Sure

by TRGG, Jan 08, 2008 08:24PM
I've had a bladder infection before but it has been a very long time.  Can someone help me?  I do not have any bleeding but I feel very bloated and I am having to use the bathroom more than normal. I also have gas more than normal. The most difficult sympton is that I have is pain on both sides of my hips. It radiates from my side to the top part of my legs.  It started gradually and is getting worse.  This has been occuring for about a week.  It is better when I'm walking and worse when I sit.

Thanks in Advance for any suggestions.

You might want a doctor to check it out.  Could be an obstruction which could be very dangerous if not deadly.  Could just be gas (as my dad always said all pain was!)  I have the same pain but mine is due to interstitial cystitis.  A fun bladder disease that feels like a UTI but doesn't have the bacteria to back up the diagnosis.  People with IC tend to have very tight hip-flexor muscles so we experience a lot of pain in our hips, lower back, lower abs, and legs.  I hope you go to your doctor and check it out!  Good luck, hope you feel better!

Hi,

Have you any urinalysis done?

Are your symptoms associated with fever, nausea , vomiting, headaches or pain in urination?

A consult with your physicain may be able to determine if the bladder infection has recurred.

Keep us posted regarding your physician's advice.

To: all
ask your doc about interstitial cystitis if it is not a bacterial infection
