How to assist/enable

by joy37, Jan 08, 2008 11:34PM
I have two women friends both of whom have back problems, one is diagnosed with ankylosing skondylitus(with two discs removed so far) had has radical masectomy as a result of hormone related breast cancer and is in great pain. The other with hereditory sphreocytosis, under active thyroid and diabetes controlled by diet and medication.

They are remarkable in as far as they share other psychological and physiological symptoms, both roughly the same age (in their 50's) overweight, low self esteem from childhood abuse(mental and physical)and my research so far shows that both lots of symptoms could be caused  by auto immune system becoming overactive possibly as a result of cytokine storm and the gene HLA B27 antigen being involved?

Ok? I hope I have made sense so far. If the auto immune system is involved in the symptoms of these two friends are there any suggestions to reverse the process ie as below?

I have had breast cancer myself and I have to admit that it took me until the last few months and over a year since the diagnosis to think straight and get peace inside of myself. I had to put myself back into the 'prime' position and let go off my maternal programming and over protective attachment to my autistic 18 year old son who has had violent moods swings all his life. However after the cancer I have learnt greatly from the experience as I realised that I was 'off balance' within myself which could have caused the auto immune system to  enable the cancer. I had rheumatoid arthritus as a child, lots of problems at home with an abusive mother and had very little self confidence until I reach my present time of life and continued whilst being treated for the cancer at University to get my degree. Feeling good about myself and achieving something has made all the difference and treating myself as if I was my own best friend has transformed my outlook from feeling depressed and unable to look after myself to now feeling energetic and making a full recovery where I am only very slightly limited from the affects of the surgery and the anti cancer drugs.Does feeling good about yourself reverse the over production of the auto immune system?
