Hi Ladies,
Yesterday was such a long day and I didn't get home until 11 PM last night so I decided I would post this morning and went straight to bed! If I wasn't at one hospital yesterday I was at another! We drove our 2 1/2 hours yesterday morning at 5:30 am just to find out Brayden is PERFECT! His spine, heart, brain, EVERYTHING!! They said they didn't recommend the amnio as my results are like an 18 year old! I got lots of pictures and will post some later as it's 4:30 am now and I'm still tired! They said he weighs 12 oz and growing strong! They suspected and then was confirmed with the recalculation of my due date to my actual LMP date and that explained why my AFP came up so high. MY *up to date* Due Date is May 12! I knew I was further along then what they kept saying and even though the first ultrasound said so late didn't change my LMP. The genetics counselor explained to me that often times they do the very first ultrasound and it says the baby is only so far developed, when in all reality it has to start somewhere and does in fact look so tiny in the beginning that it can measure so far behind, because as she put it "they have to start somewhere". She said they are even thinking of changing the *first ultrasound to calculate due dates* to a little later in the pregnancy as not always is the first one that accurate in actually calculating the due date and the huge difference it would make if they waited until about 8 - 10 weeks before they used an ultrasound to set the due date. Not that they wouldn't do an ultrasound to confirm an in-uterine pregnancy and to rule out tubal pregnancies and what not. So....anyways.... it was very informative! I left there feeling so much better. They faxed my results to my doctor here, So then I had to come back home in order to be at my doctors office for my 20 week ultrasound in just a matter of hours! Lordy it was nerve racking to be racing from Hospital to Doctors office....! After my ultrasound they had scheduled me to see the doctor, so I'm waiting and the Hospital faxed my results down and then my doctor looked at the results and said he would officially change my due date! So.. I am currently 22w 2 day (Jan 9)! I am so relieved!! DH was kind of mad because of all the unnecessary testing they always do for no reason. I told him I'm so glad they did they ultrasounds just to know that the baby is perfect and there is no need to worry anymore! Because to tell you the truth I probably would have worried if they hadn't done those ultrasounds and I just went on a whim that everything would be alright, and what fun would that be to go through your entire pregnancy not being relaxed enough to enjoy it!!! He finally agreed!
So then after I finally got home at 5:00 PM and just laid down to take a well deserved nap, just dozed off... the hospital called here and my dad was rushed to the hospital for chest pains! ACKKKKKKKK!!!!!! I was SO TIRED and did not want to drive BACK to the hospital when I had spent ALL FLIPPIN day at one or another!!! But it's my dad and who wouldn't! So here I go back to the hospital and was there until flippin 10:00 pm while they had him on the heart monitor all night! They ended up saying that he has a virus that's going around that makes you feel like you are having a heart attack. WHEW! They gave him some medicines and sent him home! So after I got him settled in there I was finally on the road to my BED!! I looked at my gas gage.. thought $#ITTTTTTTTTT I have to get some gas or I am NOT going to make it home, I have to live clear out in BFE and no where near a gas station that's worth getting gas at! So I had to make a u-turn in the middle of the road and go BACK to town to get gas! Finally got home at 11, showered, brushed my teeth and was snoozing by 11:25!! Then my damn cat wakes me up at 4 with a *dead mouse gift* for all the trouble I had gone through yesterday! How thoughtful and loving my cats are I tell ya! After I puked for 10 minutes I thought I would get on here and update you all!!
