I have a 6yr step daughter that her mother takes her to the doctor for every little sniffle or cough and has been doing this since birth almost, and now the child complains of any little aches and pains to take medication. Could this be for attention? She takes Amoxicilian and IB prophine just about every other month because they are constantly taking her to the doctor. I am really concerned for my step-daughter. I mean how much is too much? Is this even healthy? Can she get addicted?

Is it possible that you feel the child is being used by the mother to gain attention from your husband? After all, she is a living an constant link between them. If you do feel like this, then please just swallow your misgivings and say nothing. Your husband does have a duty to his daughter and he needs to be there for her, whether or not the mother is maniupulating the situation.
All this will pass in time as she grows up and can make her own choices. Good luck.
