Anyone ever had this happen?

I had a spinal headache with my last child because they punctured my spine when they put it in. Now I'm 19wks tomorrow and starting to think about what pain meds to take. I'm nervous because I had a migraine "like" headache for a week. I could not eat without throwing up and it was very hard to bond with my son because of the pain. I don't want to go through that again. The thing is, my son was a large baby and I'm affraid this little Angel will be just as big, if not bigger. Although the Dr did say he will probabl induce this one early if it looks like she's getting too big that doesn't ease my mind much.

My question is this...Has any of you ladies had a spinal headache and gone on to have other children using the epideral and NOT get another headache? I am sooooo worried about this to the point I'm scared. The pain was unbearable....

i developed a spinal headache after delivering our youngest dd...  i had a c-section though, so it wasn't just an epidural.  i made them discharge me a day early from the hospital b/c they were transporting dd to the nicu at another hospital and i had to go w/ her!!!  but after a c-section, getting realeased early wasn't exactly the best thing for my body!  mine only lasted for a day though (i can't imagine going through a week of that pain!!!).  the anesthesiologist told me to try and get rid of it myself by pretty much overloading on caffine... which i didn't want to do b/c i was pumping breastmilk for dd.  but the alternative was a bloodpatch, so i opted to try the caffine.  it worked it just took a while...

i'm not scared of it happening again, though...  i think mine happened from going through so much stress after the delivery.

When the anestheiologist was putting mine in is when he knicked me. I know this because I kicked the guy that was trying to hold me steady. They hit a nerve or something...LOL. They had me do the caffeine thing too and M&M's, but it didn;t work. The day before I was going to be released, I opted for the bloodpatch and it DIDN't work either. The bloodpatch hurt worse than the epidural. I guess I just got to hope the odds of them puncturing my spine again is minimal....Thanks for your input!
