Question about diagnosis

What does it mean to have a diagnosis of Adjustment disorder with episodes of anxiety and depression and also intermittent bipolar symptoms?
Also, would it be safe to leave minor children (pre-school age) in an extended stay (a few weeks) alone with this person?
This is in regards to an upcoming divorce and the mother is concerned about the safety of the children with a long-distance parenting plan.

If you are not comfortable after finding your anwers to the diagnosis and know that the person is not stablized on medications you might want to help this person find daycare for their children i.e. a neighbor to help out, a grandparent to take the kids during the day. This person is probably haveing a very hard time taking care of himself, it will be very hard to take care of others. The kids, at times, could be on their own if daddy can't function and make dinner. Not a good situation.
