Thyroid blood tests and ultrasound

by Katerinazach, Jan 15, 2008 12:31AM
I recently had some problems and my doctor suggested that I do some blood tests and a thyroid ultrasound. The Blood results were:

T4: 6.8
T3: 159
TSH: 2.74
ANTI-TRO: 616.3
ANTI-TG: >1000

The ultrasound showed that the size of the thyroid is normal, no nodules etc, but there is an heterogeneity (? this is a rough translation from greek, I don't know if it is the correct term).

I have an appointment with an endo in a week but would like to get a rough idea of what I might have.

My other symptoms are weight gain, fatigue, sleepyness and increased heart rate (I did a heart triplex too, but everything was ok).

From my relatively small research, I think I have Hashimoto's. Do you think that is the case?

Heterogeneity resulting from differences in clinical features; The condition or state of being different in kind or nature.

Your TSH, and both Ts do not relate to (active) Hashi and which suggest you have  normal thyroid levels as far as a hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism.
High antibodies with normal thyroid levels means you are not active Hashi yet but you might become so in the future.

Of course I am not a doctor.  The Endo. will know more.
