Is methadone a medicine or a drug? i was told it was a medicine to help me get off painkillers which i was on for seven years, due to car wreaks, and a full blown histerrectomy at the age of 27. after many years of being in pain someone told my about methadone, i was on 90 mgs. and now trying to come off cold turkey. i have been to the emergency room twice and got a little help patches and a few benzo this is hell still at day five any suggestons.

I guess it is both. But, it is a dangerous med. It is highly addictive.
Are you going c/t off of 90 mgs?
