Breast Pain after Augmentation

by wlmakeit586, Jan 17, 2008 12:45AM
I had a mastopexy and an implant inserted into one breast about 6 and a half months ago...and to this day I still have periods of pain in my right breast (one with the implant). It feels very tender and sore at times. Is this normal? Also, on the bottom of the breast there is a little indentation and the surgeon said just because the skin has to stretch so much that that will be fixed with daily massages and movements of the implant.

Please let me know if this is normal and if he's right. Thank you!

Most patients do not have significant symptoms six months post augmentation/mastopexy, but occasionally a patient will complain of persistent discomfort.  In the absence of any unusual physical findings (such as capsule contracture) it is difficult to know the source and treatment other than time and treatment.  Continued follow-up and re-examination by your physician would be the best course of action.
