wake up and don't sleep

by rosa200, Jan 18, 2008 08:30AM
Hi, I have twins and they share their bedroom (I don't have a spare room). And they are waking in the middle of the night. One of them can take more than one hour to sleep again and cry if I left the room. What's going on? Why he is waking up and don't sleep again? They don't take naps any more, and I'm trying to put them in the bed around 8 every night. They say they are scare of monsters, crocodiles and staff like that. what can I do, please?

thank you

This sort of behavior is not particularly unusual, but it is complicated for you because of the fact that you have twins. How old are the children? Based on the limited amount of information, my advice is to set sensible limits about their remaining in bed and, over time, the sleep cycle will become better established. When young children wake up at night they often are scared, so try to take measures (night light, open door, stuffed animal, etc.)that help them feel more secure.
